7 Deadly Sins

Why am I still wrestling with sin?

Do you often feel like the apostle Paul when he wrote, “I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate” (Romans 7:15)?

How often do you wonder why you keep wrestling with the same issues over and over again?

Do you fear that your routine sins limit your spiritual life?

In 7 Deadly Sins: How Our Oldest Temptations Can Lead You From Vice to Virtue, Dr. Ryan Denison and Dr. Jim Denison investigate the biblical and historical significance of the seven deadly sins: pride, envy, wrath, slothfulness, greed, gluttony, and lust.

They then relate how being tempted by any of these “gateway sins” can actually point us to God—but only if we would replace avoidance with God-honoring actions.

In 7 Deadly Sins, you will learn how to:

  • Recognize the Enemy’s traps
  • Replace sinful intent with faithful living
  • Renew your heart, mind, and soul

The book also contains discussion questions for each chapter that can be used on your own or in a small-group setting.

May the words within its pages encourage and challenge you to overcome your temptations.
